Record Store Day 2015, 18/4/15

By Posted in - Uncategorized on April 5th, 2015 0 Comments Header

It’s been a while since you’ve heard from us on here, but we (and the ensemble of stars above) thought we’d take this opportunity to tell you about our Record Store Day plans this year.

In case you haven’t heard it’s on Saturday 18th of April (just under two weeks’ time!). We will be open at 9:30am and, once again, a selection of the exclusive RSD content will be available from us. Each release will arrive in very limited quantities so come early to avoid disappointment! Either way the funky fridge will be stocked and we’ll be spinning some tunes so there will be good vibes throughout the day.

MilesErica

We are massively pleased to have Miles Hunt of The Wonder Stuff join us with Erica Nockalls to play a few songs acoustically from 5pm. Miles is an avid record collector and supporter of independent stores (find him on twitter @mileshuntTWS) so it’s great that he’ll be be coming to play a few songs for us!

From their website: “Since 2006, Miles Hunt and Erica Nockalls have toured the UK, Europe and the USA. performing acoustic shows including tracks from their own albums in addition to Wonder Stuff material and the occasional cover version.  All interspersed with Miles’ trademark inter-song banter and insight into the background behind some of the tracks being performed.”

MeriEveritt

Joining Miles and Erica is Meri Everitt, who is coming to us from Leicester to play a few alternative acoustic tunes instore. Meri plays in the band Flying Kangaroo Alliance and is a prolific songwriter when on her own, with her voice appearing on dance tracks and remixes of her songs featuring on Radio 1. Hear her music on Bandcamp and Soundcloud and find her on Facebook here.

All in all it should be a great day to spend in independent record stores so we hope to see you here on the 18th!

Gaz, Mike and Tom.

PS: Don’t forget that we post regularly about new releases and second hand collections that we get in on our Facebook and Twitter pages. We’re now on Instagram too.
